Job Title: Wastewater Operations Foreman
Job Description: The Wastewater Operations Foreman is responsible to supervise, plan, schedule and coordinate the administrative, operational and staffing requirements for the: operation; maintenance; and repair of the Municipal Wastewater Treatment and Collection infrastructure and facilities; including supervising divisional staff and external service providers. The Foreman will be designated Acting Overall Responsible Operator (ORO) for all Wastewater subsystems at the discretion of the Wastewater Operations Manager or designate, and undertake the duties and responsibilities of the Wastewater Operations Manager as assigned.

Qualifications: High school Diploma plus some job related courses; Post-secondary education in a related field would be preferred; Valid Wastewater Treatment System Certificate of competence Class II is required and valid Wastewater Collection System Certificate of competence Class I is required; Four (4) to five (5) years’ work experience in Wastewater treatment and collections with an understanding of best practices of Wastewater operations, maintenance of equipment, tests and chemicals used for Wastewater quality process control and operation; One or more years Supervisory experience; experience in a Municipal environment and a Unionized environment would be preferred; Knowledgeable in drawing, blue prints and schematics, SCADA controls and programs and electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Working Conditions: Health and Safety training, WHMIS, First Aid and CPR, Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry Training is required; Emergency Management training, Traffic Protection, Trenching and Shoring, Handling /detection of low level waste training, PACP/MACP/LACP certification is preferred; Intermediate computer skills including expertise on Geographic Information System (GIS), CMMS and Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, Access).
