Job Title: Journeyperson Machinist / General Machinist
Job Description: DUTIES: Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine machining operation to be performed Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces Set-up, program and operate a variety of machine tools including CNC tools to perform precision operations such as beveling, milling, boring, turning and other operations Operate all machines including conventional machining lathes and mills to predetermined tolerances with minimum direction Verify dimensions of machined parts or tolling using micrometers, verniers, callipers or other specialized measuring instruments Ability to sharpen tooling as required to facilitate quality requirements Follow routing instructions to ISO standards Be proactive in the diagnosis and prevention of issues regarding both materials and equipment Maintain records with required information on operator work sheets by heat numbers Ensure work areas comply with proper housekeeping and safety procedures
